Sarah Guenther, Owner of Little Bird Salon

My Mission:  “To provide quality haircuts at an affordable price”

 I live in Bellingham with my daughter Story, partner Kyle and handsome dog Foxy.  I have been offering attentive and personal hair styling since 2002. I always take time to tend to all the little details so my client walks out with a haircut that they love and will still look great a few months later. The name “Little Bird Salon” is named after my daughter who I have always called “Little Bird”

In 2013 while being an educator to student stylists at the TONI&GUY Academy in Bellingham I started cutting hair on the side on  Lopez Island when I would go to visit my family. As my clientele there grew I found myself thinking about how cool it would be to bring a salon to the island instead of doing house calls, and the Little Bird Salon vision was born. With the support of a generous family member I was able to buy a small bus that I turned into my very own colorful, welcoming and fully functional mobile salon. After finding a permanent home at GOODS Local Brews I decided to put the travel idea on hold and enjoy a steady place in Bellingham.

I have created a peaceful and comfortable space where people can be themselves and have a one-on-one salon experience. I love to see people’s excitement when they walk into the bus, whether it’s their first or fifth visit. Little Bird Salon is an evolving vision of my love for community and is a reflection of that. I have a free clothing exchange in the salon where my clients can trade lovely items that don’t suit them for something new, and I’m always thinking of new ways to use my space.

Currently Little Bird is located next to Goods Local Brews & Nursery, an awesome and comfortable neighborhood hotspot. 

I would like to give a huge thank you to Kyle, Martha, Gordon, Corey, Craig, Megan and Story for their hands on contribution in bringing Little Bird to Life, and all of my clients, family and friends who have supported me in transforming this bus into a full-on, vibrant salon. This is truely a dream come true!
